TARU Sustainability

Fashion Show Project – Woolwich Polytechnic School (2008)

In this exciting collaboration with TARU artists, students at Woolwich Polytechnic School explored fashion in a whole new way. Over the course of the project, they designed and crafted their own vibrant collections—featuring clothes, costumes, and accessories—each reflecting their personal style and creative ideas. What made these designs truly unique was the use of recycled and unconventional materials. From paper and plastic bags to crisp packets and worn-out clothing, students were encouraged to think sustainably while bringing their fashion visions to life. The project not only showcased their talent and imagination but also highlighted the importance of reusing and recycling. It was a fun, hands-on experience that empowered students to see fashion as a form of self-expression—and a way to care for the environment too.
